President of Kazakhstan Tokayev is considering the possibility of purchasing gas from Turkmenistan. By 2024, Kazakhstan will stop exporting its own gas and will start buying "blue fuel" from other countries. Establishment of gas supply from Turkmenistan is of great interest. According to statistics, the country ranks fourth in the availability of natural gas (after Russia, Qatar and Iran).
The change of priorities in the economy and energy sector of Kazakhstan has been facilitated by the increased demand for natural gas within the state. This was reported to the media by B. Akchulakov - Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan. There are also plans to buy Russian gas to meet the needs of the northern regions of the country.
