The first motorcycle rally around the Caspian Sea, uniting motorcycle enthusiasts of the Caspian littoral countries, started on April 1 in the Astrakhan region. Igor Babushkin, Governor of the Astrakhan Region, is leading the rally. The idea of the event was supported by the President and the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The TASS news agency reports about the event.
The distance of the motorcycle rally is more than five thousand kilometers, which must be overcome in 10 days. The route of motorcyclists passes through the cities of Kazakhstan - on April 2, they reached Atyrau, then will go through Aktau. In Turkmenistan, the motorcycle activists will pass through Turkmenbashi and Ashgabat. Then the run will pass through Iran, Azerbaijan and end in the Russian city of Kaspiysk.
The aim of the rally is also to strengthen good neighborly relations with the Caspian littoral states. The Governor of the Astrakhan Oblast has scheduled working meetings in all the countries through which the route of the rally passes.
