Representatives of Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, met with Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
Participants in the negotiation process gave a positive assessment of the dynamics of expanding interstate cooperation in a number of priority vectors. They noted the productivity of political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Mention was made of the key milestones in the cooperation between the neighbouring states in 2020, in particular the stages of implementation of large-scale infrastructure development programmes. The main areas of interaction in 2021 are outlined.
The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan and Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chairman of the High National Reconciliation Council of Afghanistan, also held talks.
