Turkmen Foreign Minister R.Meredov held an online meeting with his Georgian counterpart D.Zalkaliani. The foreign ministers discussed key issues of bilateral relations and noted the high level of diplomatic dialogue between the two countries. Our countries are successfully cooperating within the framework of international organizations, including the United Nations, and will continue to strengthen such cooperation.
One of the key issues of the discussion was the improvement of transport and transit projects. The negotiators spoke in favor of accelerating the implementation of the Caspian Sea - Black Sea and Lapis Lazuli projects, which will contribute to the growth of trade turnover of the participating countries and adjacent regions. The Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Georgia mutually expressed the need to hold a bilateral Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Partnership as soon as possible.
Rashid Meredov and David Zalkaliani also discussed the nuances of expanding partnership in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
