Deputy Head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov November 6 took part in the CIS Heads of Government videoconferences. The meeting discussed the implementation of ongoing projects, as well as prospective issues of cooperation. A separate topic was the pandemic and joining efforts to effectively combat the threat and its consequences.
Speaking to diplomats, Meredov voiced Turkmenistan's position as an associate member, including the implementation of the CIS Economic Development Strategy to 2030.
Key areas of interactionThe head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan emphasized in his address to the participants of the meeting:
- Strengthening of transport relations, in particular with regard to transit corridors North-South and East-West and the formation of logistics hubs;
- development economic cooperation (agricultural sector, oil and gas complex, mechanical engineering, medicine, as well as services);
- implementation joint projects (trade, industry, fuel and energy complex, electric power, transport and communications);
- intercultural exchange.
According to the results of the meeting, the participants signed 23 documents on programs and activities aimed at implementing the adopted CIS Economic Development Strategy until 2030.
