The key issue of the 12th meeting of the Majlis of the sixth convocation was the discussion of the draft law on the State Budget for the next year. As was noted at the meeting, the bill provides for the support of Turkmenistan's economic development, the efficient use of budgetary funds, and the improvement of citizens' lives.
More than 70% of the expenses included in the 2021 draft State Budget are related to the development of the social sector: medicine, education, culture, social security, housing and utilities and other services. The document also fixes a ten percent increase in wages, pensions, benefits, scholarships from January 1 - these items are protected in the 2021 State Budget.
The emphasis in economic progress will be on the agribusiness sector, transportation, communications, construction, textiles, and food processing. Next year, special attention will be paid to supporting private entrepreneurship, increasing the output of Turkmen products, saturating the domestic market with quality and affordable food.
Deputies unanimously adopted the Law on the State Budget of Turkmenistan for 2021, and now the document will be sent to the leader of the Turkmen nation for approval.
