Representatives of the two countries, led by Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan B. Ovezov and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey A. Karaismailoglu, met online to discuss further development of bilateral relations under the COVID-19 pandemic.
The sides focused on discussing steps to expand Turkmen-Turkish cooperation in the transport sphere, in particular the effective use of transport corridors and air communication to boost trade.
The meeting noted the important transit role of Turkey and Turkmenistan on the East-West route. The diplomats discussed the possibility of improving the efficiency of the Caspian transit, the railway line Baku-Tbilisi-Kars and the transport corridor "Lapis Lazuli".
Trade relations will be strengthened by optimizing technical procedures and ensuring uniformity in all types of freight traffic between states.
