Turkmenistan and Great Britain consider joint projects

The U.K. Department for International Trade reported that a number of joint projects with Turkmenistan are currently under discussion. Due to the limitations of the global pandemic, the bilateral dialogue has been moved online. The Department stressed that the British Petrofac, Buried Hill, Shell, JCB, De La Rue in Turkmenistan are working in different areas of activity.

Earlier, the Department published data on the volume and structure of trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the UK, which amounted to £27 million ($35.8 million) from Q2 2019 to Q2 2020.

Great Britain imported metal ore, scrap metal (£390,000 / $517,629), inorganic chemicals (£280,000 / $371,631), ships (£250,000 / $331,813) and industrial equipment (£150,000 / $199,088) from Turkmenistan.

Britain exported chemicals (£4 million / $5.3 million), food, tanning, dyeing materials (£2 million / $2.6 million), intermediate promotional equipment (£980 thousand / $1.3 million), capital promotional equipment (£970 thousand / $1.2 million), jewelry (£970 thousand / $1.2 million) to Turkmenistan.
