At a meeting with the heads of the WB (Vice President for the European Region and Central Asia A. Bjerde and Director for Central Asia L. Burunchuk), the Turkmen diplomats talked about providing financial support to the Turkmen economy, necessary for its adaptation to the pandemic.
They talked about the modernization of the energy and transport sectors, digitalization of the economy, and agricultural development. In particular, the sides discussed opportunities for the development of horticulture. The WB experts focused on the need to support private business and its accession to the WB Doing Business rating.
The economic impact of COVID-19 on the global economy and the IMF strategy in this direction were the subject of discussion at the online meeting of the IMFC, which was attended by the head of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan.
