Turkmenistan Participated in World Health Assembly

On May 18-19, 2020, the World Health Assembly held its 73rd session conference in video format.

The leadership of WHO together with ministers and their deputies from participating countries took part in the remote session. Turkmenistan was represented directly by the Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Industry and the Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva.

T. Adhanom Gebreyesus, head of WHO, opened the meeting, wishing participants fruitful interaction and stressing the role of partnership and solidarity in the face of the pandemic.

Representatives of Turkmenistan in their speech informed about activities of the medical system of our state, its progressive development in accordance with international standards and the global challenges of our time. They also spoke about the initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan in this area. They emphasized Turkmenistan's consistent commitment to cooperation with WHO, including development of programs and projects aimed at protecting the health of all mankind.
