Turkmenistan proposed to use the port potential of the Caspian Sea in the interests of the CIS

At the summit of the CIS countries, which was held on October 14 in the capital of Kazakhstan, the president of Turkmenistan made a proposal concerning the use of the Caspian Sea port potential in the interests of the CIS member states.

Serdar Berdymukhamedov stressed that he sees great prospects for cooperation in the Caspian Sea. The formation of a combined transport and logistics infrastructure in the Caspian region is especially important for landlocked countries. The President of Turkmenistan noted that most countries of the Commonwealth fall into this category.

He emphasized the great opportunities offered by the modern port of Turkmenbashi and the country's merchant fleet. Serdar Berdymukhamedov called cooperation in the Caspian Sea a priority area of economic partnership.
