Third phase of digitalization of customs processes launched in Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, August 7 - Arzuw.news. The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the UN Conference on Trade and Development have launched the third phase of a joint program to create a digital customs system and form the concept of "smart customs". This is reported by the publication Turkmenistan: Golden Age.

The relevant agreement was concluded during the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which is taking place in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. The document was signed by the Head of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Secretary-General of UNCTAD.

The new stage of cooperation involves large-scale implementation of advanced information solutions and automation of basic customs procedures. Special attention is paid to increasing the openness and efficiency of customs administration.

UNCTAD Secretary-General Rebecca Grimpson praised Turkmenistan's achievements in the field of digital modernization and noted the importance of strategic interaction between the parties.

The Head of the Customs Department emphasized that the third phase of the initiative represents a key step towards building a technologically advanced customs infrastructure. The implementation of the project is designed to optimize procedures for foreign economic activity and strengthen the country's investment attractiveness.
