The head of Turkmenistan held telephone talks with Italian President Sergio Mattarella. After Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov's visit to Italy last year, Turkmen-Italian cooperation has reached a new level.
Thus, at the end of 2019:
- Italy ranks third in Turkmenistan's foreign trade and second in exports of Turkmen products.
- The trade turnover between the countries exceeded $1.5 billion.
To consolidate the success, the head of Turkmenistan initiated several innovations: establishment of a joint Business Council, opening of a trade mission of our country in Milan, and the annual holding of Italian Economic Days in Turkmenistan.
Turkmenistan effectively cooperates with Italian partners in the oil and gas and processing industries, as well as in the communication sector. In the future, Turkmenistan plans to open production companies in Turkmenistan to manufacture solar panels, ceramic goods, etc.
Sergio Mattarella accepted Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov's invitation to visit our country and expressed support for continuing the dialogue to strengthen relations between the countries.
