Turkmen boxer reached the semifinals of the Asian Games

Bairamdurdy Nurmuhammedov, a boxer from Turkmenistan, reached the semifinals of the XIX Asian Summer Games after his last fight, guaranteeing himself at least a silver medal in the weight category up to 71 kg and a ticket to the Olympic Games 2024. Bairamdurdy Nurmuhammedov's last fight was against Mongolian 26-year-old Tuguldur Byambatsogt. Having successfully spent the second round, in the third round Bairamdurdy continued active actions, inflicting his opponent with massive blows to the body and head. The Mongolian boxer's trainers had to admit the defeat of their ward by throwing in the towel in the ring.

Bairamdurdy will face Taiwan's Kang Chia Wei in the semifinals. In the other semi-final of the boxing tournament, athletes from Japan and Kazakhstan will meet.
