Avaza, August 6 - Arzuw.news. The Private Sector Forum continued its work in the National Tourist Zone Avaza within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. This is reported by the publication Turkmenistan: Golden Age.
The event featured a thematic session on "Development Opportunities for LLDCs", organized jointly with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. Participants discussed measures for the sustainable and inclusive development of landlocked countries through the strategic utilization of their potential in the global economy.
The forum noted that landlocked developing countries constitute a significant part of the world economy, but face serious logistical, transportation and economic difficulties due to the lack of direct access to seaports.
Experts emphasized the great potential of such States through modern technology, enhanced regional cooperation and innovative approaches in economic management. Particular attention was paid to the role of digitalization and the introduction of information and communications technologies, which increased access to international markets and financial services, facilitating the development of entrepreneurship.
UNIDO, as a specialized UN agency, actively supports the development of green industries in landlocked developing countries. Among the key conditions for sustainable development, participants identified structural reforms, economic diversification and expansion of export potential.
Energy affordability was recognized as a pillar of development. Participants emphasized the importance of sustainable energy solutions and energy saving technologies for the economic growth of these countries.
At the end of the session, it was noted that the private sector is a key driver of reforms, while investments in renewable energy sources ensure economic development and reduce the negative impact on the environment.
