New mosques to open in Turkmenistan

National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at the opening ceremony of a religious building in the city of Anau on March 27 that new mosques will be opened in different parts of Turkmenistan during the holy month of Oraza. This is reported by Asmannews online edition.

Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan noted that the country actively supports those wishing to perform Hajj. Every year, Turkmenistanis go on pilgrimage to holy places, as well as fast, give sadaqa-agzachar and recite prayers in the month of Oraz. Observing the ancient traditions of the Turkmen people, the country celebrates the sacred holidays of Oraza and Kurban Bayram at the state level.

On March 27, the National Leader of the Turkmen people proposed to name the iconic site in the town of Anau "Seyit Jemaletdin Mosque".
