The National Day of the State of Qatar is celebrated annually on December 18. It was on this day 144 years ago that the ruler Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani laid the foundations of the statehood of the new country, uniting the disparate tribes living on the territory of the Arabian Peninsula. This day has become the epitome of the unity of the people of Qatar.
An official reception was held at the Embassy of Qatar in Turkmenistan on Saturday, December 17, in honor of the country's National Day. In his welcoming remarks, Qatar Ambassador Hamad bin Rashid bin Hamad AL-AZBA stressed that the National Day is an important holiday for every Qatari citizen, symbolizing the people's unity.
On behalf of Serdar Berdymukhamedov, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdaev congratulated the people of Qatar on the upcoming holiday. He also noted the strengthening of diplomatic relations between the two countries in recent years.
