Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Robert Meredov and his Azerbaijani counterpart J.Bayramov had a telephone conversation, during which they discussed future directions of interstate partnership. At the beginning of the conversation the Turkmen foreign minister congratulated Jayhun Bayramov on his appointment to such an important post and wished him fruitful work for the benefit of the brotherly people of Azerbaijan.
During the telephone conversations, the ministers reviewed issues of effective coordination of efforts aimed at diversifying mutually beneficial Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations in key areas of state activity. The sides paid special attention to the strengthening of cooperation in such areas as transport and transit.
Another important nuance touched upon in the conversation between the heads of foreign ministries was the joint counteraction to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and the coordination of activities in this area.
In addition, the diplomats exchanged views on current topics of regional and international politics.
