Due to the global pandemic and its impact on the macro economy, the volume of Azerbaijani exports to Turkmenistan in the first half of 2020 decreased by almost 18%, compared to the same period last year. So, from January to June this year, Turkmenistan imported Azerbaijani products for $ $9.5 million, while last year in this period, this figure amounted to $11.2 million, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
Despite the drop in total volume, Turkmenistan's share in Azerbaijan's total exports increased from 0.11% to 0.12%.
The volume of imports of Turkmen goods to Azerbaijan also decreased by %8.3 amounting to just over $49 million U.S. dollars. At the same time, the share of imports of products from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan increased from %0.76 to %0.98 of total imports.
Thus, the total trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan in the first half of this year, amounted to $58.634 million US dollars, which is lower by %9.8 than in the same period of 2019.
