The State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan presented a report on the results of 2021. Speaking at a government meeting, the head of the agency Silap Velbegov noted that, compared to the indicators of 2020, all spheres of the country's economy showed growth.
In the past year, 8,373 million cubic meters of "blue fuel" were produced. Export supplies of gas increased by 34.8%.
Electricity production in Turkmenistan increased by 11.6% and exports by 36.4%. In 2021, compared to 2020, the production of gasoline (+0.5%), cement (+4.5%), lubricating oils (+7.8%) was also increased.
Production of bakery products increased by 6.3%, pasta - by 4.1%, confectionery - by 7.35%, sausage - by 9.8%, fish products - by 2.1%. The agricultural sector in the past year also showed an increase in performance compared to 2020. Vegetables were produced 5% more, potatoes - 9.2%, meat and dairy products - 0.9%, fruit and berries - 2.6%.
Textilprom of Turkmenistan in 2021 also showed growth in the production of fabrics (+6.4%) and yarn (+24.8%).
Growth is also observed in the private sector of Turkmenistan. Entrepreneurs increased production of dairy products (+6.7%), fruit and berry (+7.5%), vegetables (+5.2%), eggs (+1.2%), pasta (+12.9%), confectionery (+8%) and sausages (+9.1%). The private sector non-food sector recorded an increase in the output of pipes made of fiberglass and plastic, with 33.2% more produced in 2021 than in 2020.
Cargo turnover for all types of transport reached 50,335.7 million ton-kilometers, and passenger turnover - 28236.9 million passenger-kilometers. The population was provided with communication services by 10.4% compared to the previous year.
In concluding his report, the head of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan dwelt separately on the peculiarities of one of the preparatory stages of the population and housing census to be conducted this year. In particular, he talked about the successful introduction of advanced digital technologies into this process.
