The State Museum of Turkmenistan presented an exhibition on Memorial Day

The State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan opened an exhibition to mark the 72nd anniversary of the Ashgabat earthquake. The exhibition begins with a narration about life in prewar Ashgabat. In the pictures that survived, you can see residential houses and administrative buildings, old buildings, parks and beautiful streets. The pictures of the earthquake aftermath provide a terrifying contrast to this well-being. The photos show fortitude and persistence of the people of Ashgabat who survived the consequences of the disaster that occurred in the night of October 5 to 6, 1948.

The museum also exhibits thematic paintings from its storerooms, archaeological finds, ethnographic objects, video chronicles, and publications dedicated to the mournful event.

An optimistic epilogue is the part of the exposition devoted to the modernity of white marble Ashgabat.
