In his speech at the Turkic Council Summit, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the close cooperation with international organizations, primarily the UN and WHO, since the beginning of the threat in the form of COVID-19.
Turkmenistan immediately took measures aimed at combating the spread of the virus. These include strengthening of customs and border controls, and restrictions on air travel. Particular attention is being paid to the medical system. At the moment, medical workers are provided with personal protective equipment and test systems for effective work, and hospitals have the necessary equipment and medications to help patients.
The head of Turkmenistan stressed that the country has developed a scheme of sanitary and veterinary surveillance, which is provided at the borders by relevant specialists of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and other state agencies. The key tasks of these departments are: control over the level of sanitation and hygiene, disinfection and decontamination measures, etc. Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov noted the active explanatory work among the population as one of the most important components of the anti-viral work of the state.
Thanks to the actions listed above, the situation with COVID-19 in Turkmenistan remains stable and is fully controlled by the authorities. All efforts will be made to preserve people's health and lives," assured the head of state.
