As part of strategic cooperation, Turkmenistan has sent about 1,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Russia, mainly textiles, construction materials and high quality foodstuffs.
Russian partners expressed gratitude to the Turkmen people for their good-neighborly attitude and care, which is especially important during the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic that countries around the world are facing.
The received Turkmen goods will be distributed, first of all, to medical institutions, which are in the front line of the fight against the virus. Also, assistance through social organizations will be received by citizens who are at risk. Governor of Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation I.Babushkin, where the aid was sent, thanked the President of Turkmenistan and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation.
Recall that the humanitarian cargo from Turkmenistan was sent a few days ago after the order of Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, announced at a visiting government meeting. Foodstuffs, materials and goods were given to the Russian Federation free of charge. As the leader of the Turkmen nation noted, this aid is a proof of friendship and mutual support between the two fraternal nations, which are linked by inseparable ties.
