Third UN Conference on LLDCs concluded in Avaz

A flag lowering ceremony was held at the conclusion of the UN LLDC-3 Conference

Avaza, August 8 - Arzuw.news. A solemn ceremony of lowering flags at the end of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries was held in the National Tourist Zone Avaza. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov stressed that Avaza has turned into a center of solidarity and cooperation, embodying the spirit of the UN International Year of Peace and Trust.

During the conference, participants held extensive discussions, reviewed long-term development projects, analyzed the economic situation of landlocked developing countries and identified priority tasks for the future.

UN Under-Secretary-General Rabab Fatima expressed gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Government of Turkmenistan for the impeccable organization of the event. She noted the inclusive nature of the forum, which was attended by heads of state, parliamentarians, representatives of the private sector, civil society, youth and women's organizations.

According to Rabab Fatima, landlocked developing countries are entering a new phase of development. With effective cooperation and investment, these nations can ensure a prosperous future for their people.

The closing ceremony ended with the ceremonial lowering of the national flags of Turkmenistan and the United Nations to the musical accompaniment of a military band.
