Golestan province, located in the north of Iran, is planning to hold a series of cultural and educational events dedicated to the birthday of the great thinker of Turkmenistan Makhtumkuli Fraghi. This was reported by Ahmad Golchin, deputy head of the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of this administrative-territorial unit.
He said that Gorgan, the administrative center of Golestan province, is planning to hold an event to mark the birthday of the great poet and thinker. The event will take place on May 20 in the village of Aktokai (Golestan province, Iran), where Makhtumkuli Fraghi and his father Dovletmammad Azadi found their last resting place.
It is noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has made adjustments to the ceremony - the number of participants will be limited, and it will be held in strict compliance with the sanitary and epidemiological regulations.
The governor, the head of the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of the province of Golestan and others will attend the ceremony. A theatrical performance and thematic exposition will tell the audience about the life and career of the outstanding thinker. During the ceremony, artists will perform and Mahtumkuli's poems will be recited.
The deputy head of the Office also reported that a conference is being held on May 19. It is organized by the Makhtumkuli Fraghi Institute and supported by the General Directorate of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Golestan Province.
