Turkmenistan plans to build a hybrid power plant. The facility will be the first of its kind in the country. It will be located on the territory of the artificial lake "Altyn Asyr" in the capital. The capacity of the solar-wind power plant will be 10 MW.
The new environmentally friendly project was presented to Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov by the head of the country's Ministry of Energy, Charymyrat Purchekov. The project was developed by the Research and Production Center of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan. Power generation at this innovative facility will be carried out exclusively at the expense of renewable energy sources.
The construction of the power plant is carried out in accordance with the Plan of Measures aimed at implementing the Concept of Development of the region adjacent to the capital lake "Altyn Asyr". The plan is designed for the period from 2019 to 2025.
The head of the Ministry of Energy told the head of Turkmenistan about the plans to change the format of management of the Dashoguz and Akhal power plants - combined. In addition, the President was informed about the construction of the Center for repair and maintenance of power equipment, which will be located in the capital's Byuzmeyin etrap. The center will occupy an area of over 29,000 square meters and provide a number of additional jobs.
The work, which the Ministry of Energy plans to carry out, will increase the efficiency of power generation in Turkmenistan from 34% to 52%.
