Ashgabat, July 31 - Arzuw.news. The seven-month breeding cycle of the first batch of royal giant freshwater shrimp Rosenberg, the biomaterial of which was delivered from Vietnam, is nearing completion in the pond farm "Elin balyk". This is reported by the publication Turkmenistan: Golden Age.
The company, which is celebrating a decade of operation in the domestic market, plans to first develop the local market for delicacy products and then enter export destinations. Currently, the hatchery contains about one million shrimp, which were imported from Thailand as 3-4 millimeter larvae.
Adult shrimp of gray-blue color reach a length of up to 30 centimeters with an average weight of 250 grams. Their meat belongs to the category of dietary products with high nutritional value.
Water from the Karakum River is used to cultivate crustaceans, which undergoes special preparation, including clarification and saturation with necessary microelements. Vepa Khallyev, Director of the farm, recently made a study tour to Iran to learn about modern engineering automatic systems of industrial-scale fish farming complexes.
In addition to shrimp, the company specializes in the cultivation of exotic fish species, including tilapia, African catfish and sturgeon. The company buys caviar for breeding in Hungary and Thailand. Finished products are sold through company outlets in the capital, where customers can buy live fish and seafood.
The future plans of the farm include preparation for cultivation of marine shrimp Vannamey using Caspian waters, which will expand the range of delicacy products of Turkmenistan.
