Turkmenistan has been engaged by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) to discuss the relationship between transport development and climate change, as well as ways to minimize this impact.
The meeting was attended by employees of the Ministry of Agriculture, "Türkmenawtoulaglary", "Türkmendeňizderýaýollary". The parties also discussed future cooperation on projects implemented jointly with ESCAP.
Environmental issues are among the key issues in the foreign policy strategy of our country. Having become participants of international environmental programs, Turkmenistan actively participates in the development of effective environmental tools in order to preserve the biodiversity and beauty of natural landscapes.
For this purpose, the National Strategy on Climate Change and the National Forest Program have been developed. Much attention in cooperation with ESCAP is paid to saving the Aral Sea.
