A judoka from Turkmenistan won a bronze medal at the championship in Bulgaria

Turkmen judoka Hekim Agamammedov took bronze at the European Open Championship, which ended in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. The tournament was held for two days and gathered 396 athletes from 43 countries. There were 14 sets of medals in various weight categories among men and women. This is reported in the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The Turkmen national team included 16 athletes (12 men and 4 women). 24-year-old judoka Hekim Agamammedov took the third place in the weight category up to 66 kg. For this he had to defeat four opponents.

He won two confident victories over athletes from Kazakhstan and Spain. In the quarterfinals, the Turkmen judoka met with Luca Caggiano, a two-time bronze medalist of the European Cup-2022. The meeting ended with the defeat of Hekim Agamammedov, but the Turkmen athlete completed the next two fights for third place with confident victories over athletes from Bulgaria and Great Britain.
