Turkmenistan presented the principles of neutrality to the OSCE

The delegation of Turkmenistan spoke at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna, emphasizing the role of the principles of neutrality in modern international relations. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The discussion took place yesterday within the framework of the presentation of the report of the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Pere João Pons Sampietro, to the participants of the Permanent Council of the Organization.

The Turkmen side reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the principles of positive neutrality, which is recognized by the United Nations and constitutes the foundation of the country's foreign policy.

Within the framework of the activities of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Turkmenistan initiates various events aimed at strengthening international dialog and disseminating the principles of neutrality to ensure global peace and security.

Ashgabat successfully organized two major international conferences of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in 2023 and 2024, which brought together parliamentarians, experts and representatives of international organizations from various countries.

The meeting emphasized the importance of holding regular conferences for the development of multilateral cooperation and promotion of the principles of neutrality as an effective mechanism for strengthening mutual trust between states.
