Judoka from Turkmenistan wins gold medal at European Cup

Sergey Rakhimov took gold at the two-day European Junior Judo Cup in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). This is reported by the online edition of "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The talented athlete, who achieved such a high success, studies at the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute. He won the gold medal in the weight category up to 66 kg, in which 27 judokas from 13 countries competed for victory.

This success of the 18-year-old first-rate athlete is not the first in international competitions. Last week, the judoka took silver at the European Open Championship in Italy.

A total of 268 judokas from 18 countries representing 4 continents are participating in the European Cup in Sarajevo. The Turkmen national team went to the competition with 13 juniors, including 10 boys and 3 girls.
