The newspaper "Türkmenistan" celebrates its 100th anniversary

July 29, Ashgabat, /Arzuw NEWS/. Today marks the 100th anniversary of the state-owned newspaper "Türkmenistan", which publishes daily updates on Turkmenistan, including political-economic and socio-cultural articles.

The newspaper was first published on July 29, 1920. Originally published once a week in a small format, the paper's materials were prepared in the Arabic alphabet.

Several copies of the newspaper, published in 1920, have been found in the A. Novaia Library of Uzbekistan and in the collections of the Lenin State Library in Moscow. Lenin State Library in Moscow.

In 1925, the editorial board of Türkmenistan published other local newspapers, such as: "Daýhan", "Ýaş Kommunist", "Zähmet" and the magazine "Tokmak".

In the history of the newspaper, the chief editors of the newspaper were Ch.Purliev, H.Khanov and G.Husainov. Currently, since 2012, the chief editor of "Turkmenistan" is Kakamyrat Rejebov.

The founder of the newspaper is the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. It is worth noting that the newspaper "Türkmenistan" is one of the most read daily newspapers in the country. For Russian-speaking readers, there is also a special editorial publication "Neutral Turkmenistan. metbugat.gov.tm electronic versions of this and other government publications are also published.
