It is noted that gender equality and increasing women's rights and opportunities are on the list of the Permanent Development Goals. As you know, our state is a full member of the UN, which has supported the fundamental conventions in this area. And the country continues to fulfill its obligations.
Ensuring equality of men and women is not only guaranteed by the Turkmen Constitution and generally known intergovernmental legal norms, but is also included in the list of basic values of the policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov. The state is systematically improving the legislative framework in this area. In particular, the National Action Plan for the period from 2021 to 2025 aimed at ensuring gender equality has been approved.
The participants of the online advisory meeting also reviewed and adopted an Action Plan for the current year.
