Turkmenistan will be the first in Central Asia to purchase Airbus A330-200P2F aircrafts

Turkmenistan will become the first country in the Central Asian region to purchase new Airbus aircrafts. We are talking about A330-200 model of P2F modification. This will allow "Turkmenistan Airlines" to actively develop air cargo transportation, expanding the list of international cargo destinations.

Previously, the company used mostly American (Boeing) and Russian (IL) aircrafts for air transportation. However, in June last year, President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov granted permission to purchase of a 777-200F freighter Aircraft Finance Germany production. And on January 7, 2021, the Turkmen leader signed another decree, according to which the national airline had the opportunity to to purchase two Airbus A330-200P2Fs at once. In this modification "P2F" means that the pre-existing passenger version of the aircraft was converted into a cargo version.

The European side has already received confirmation of the order, and the aircrafts themselves will arrive in Turkmenistan in 2022. Thus, "Turkmenistan Airlines" will be the first airline in the Central Asian region, operating such a type of aircraft. The maximum payload of Airbus A330-200P2F airliners is 61 tons, and their flight range reaches 7.7 thousand kilometers.
