Turkmenistan became one of the participants of the 28th International Book Fair, where it introduced to the visitors the brightest national book projects. The event, timed to the Year of National Unity in Belarus, was held at the Exhibition Center "BelExpo" in Minsk. It was attended by 20 countries, including Kazakhstan, Turkey, Iran, Austria, Germany, Russia and others. The exposition is intended to demonstrate the power of the book that unites the countries and people. The welcome words to the participants of the fair were also addressed by the leader of the country Alexander Lukashenko.
The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Information. Support was also provided by the CIS Executive Committee and the diplomatic representatives accredited in Belarus. The event runs from 10 am to 8 pm, and on the final day - until 6 pm. Visitors must observe preventive measures - distancing and mask mode.
At the center of the exhibition is the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the exhibition itself is designed as one common house, divided into 11 "rooms".
Like a number of other diplomatic missions, the Embassy of Turkmenistan also presented the most outstanding national publishing projects at this event. They included not only fiction, but also popular scientific works and periodicals on Turkmen culture, history and art. Consultants, who acquaint visitors with the content of the stand, are dressed in national costumes of Turkmenistan. This also contributes to attracting the attention of visitors eager to take pictures with them.
During the International Book Fair-exhibition, movies and plays based on the works of Belarusian and foreign writers will be shown on television, in cinemas and theaters.
