According to the "Investment Program of Turkmenistan," the percentage of imports in 2020 will decrease significantly, and new horizons of export industries will open. Private sector enterprises will play a special role. According to forecasts for 2020, their share in Turkmenistan's GDP will approach 70%.
In addition to traditional investments in increasing the efficiency of agro-industrial complex, in the current forecast period it is planned to build such enterprises: cotton spinning factory Ak Bugday etrap of Akhal region; plant for processing waste and garbage; plant for processing meat and dairy products; aluminum profiles plant; plant for production of reinforced concrete products of Gokdepe etrap.
Large investments are envisaged for the construction of a wool processing plant in Bayramali etrap of Mary region; the production of potash fertilizers in the Leilimekan potassium salt mine; a polyethylene sack manufacturing plant; and a nail production facility.
The investment program for 2020 provides for a significant number of facilities envisaged for implementation by private businessmen. The total amount of investments in 2020 will be 39.5 million manat.
