Fitch confirmed Turkmenistan's B+ credit rating

Fitch Ratings (USA) was approved for Turkmenistan in 2021 credit rating "B+" and "stable prediction.

The experts' assessment is based on the assumption that energy prices and macroeconomic indicators are in line with balanced fiscal and external accounts. In addition, the forecast is based on the stability of the political course after the presidential elections in Turkmenistan in March 2022.

Fitch experts say resumption of Turkmen gas exports and forecast their further growth. Thus, the current account surplus for 9 months last year amounted to 1% of GDP due to increased revenues from the sale of hydrocarbon resources. Activation in the gas industry contributed to the growth of Turkmenistan's GDP (in 2021 it amounted to 6.2%, while in 2020 - 5.9%).

In addition, the stability of the country's external balance and low public debt are noted.
