Five new mainline freight locomotives arrived in Turkmenistan

Ashgabat railway station witnessed a festive meeting arranged by Turkmen railway workers in honor of the arrival at the station of 5 mainline freight locomotives from Russia, which arrived from the machine-building plant in Bryansk. Bryansk machine building plant, the largest Russian producer of railway rolling stock, and the Turkmen railwaymen have established longstanding ties.

The fact that diesel locomotives from Russia have proven to be excellent, being a reliable and modern transport, is well known to the Demiryollary agency. It is they who enter into contracts for the supply of locomotives from Bryansk. The expansion and renewal of Turkmenistan's locomotive fleet is inextricably linked with the strengthening of ties with Russian machine builders.

With the help of mainline diesel freight locomotives it becomes possible to increase the efficiency of organization of large volume freight transportation on the tracks that have not yet been electrified. The railway industry of Turkmenistan is faced with the task of promptly modernizing the technical fleet to expand the horizons of transportation.
