To fight infectious diseases in Turkmenistan, routine vaccination will be carried out at the expense of state funds. The authorities intend to pay special attention to the youngest citizens of the country - they will participate in the immunization program for free. UNICEF provided them with high quality vaccines approved by WHO.
UNICEF experts emphasize the importance of routine vaccination activities, especially for children, because in the current environment, vulnerability to infectious diseases can have a negative impact on global health.
The Ministry of Health of Turkmenistan supports this international strategy and is actively working in this direction. Scheduled immunization of the population is carried out in all regions of the country. WHO and UNICEF intend to support the government's initiatives on such programs.
As H. Kluge, Director of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, noted, vaccination is now a component of the plan to prevent the spread of COVID-19. He stressed that solidarity and joint efforts in this direction will be the basis for a safe and healthy future for all.
