Address by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the students of IMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

Today, on February 27, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Yerkebulan Sapiyev gave a lecture for the students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

After greeting the faculty and students, the Ambassador began his speech in Turkmen.

Ambassador Sapiyev then congratulated all lecturers and students, as well as officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on their recent professional holiday, Diplomatic Workers Day, and wished them good health, prosperity and great successes in their professional activities for the benefit of the "brotherly Turkmen nation"! The Ambassador also thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan for the opportunity to address a large audience of future Turkmen diplomats on the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and shared his views on the importance of diplomatic service and neutral status for the successful development of the state, status and prospects of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, current developments in Kazakhstan, as well as the upcoming jubilee events both in Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

In addition, E. Sapiyev described in detail the situation in his country, its place in the modern world, spoke about Kazakhstan's plans for the future, which will have to be created by young, highly qualified specialists.

Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan share common historical, cultural and linguistic roots. The centuries-old friendship of the peoples of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan develops systematically from year to year.

As noted by the Ambassador, cooperation is also deepening in the trade and economic sphere. The volume of mutual trade last year amounted to almost $146 million. This is 46 % more than in 2018. Kazakhstan's exports stood at $116 million. At the same time, imports from Turkmenistan amounted to $29.8 million. THE COUNTRY'S IMPORTS AMOUNTED TO $29.8 MILLION.

Ambassador Yerkebulan Sapiyev emphasized that Kazakhstan is ready to consistently expand and deepen cooperation across the entire spectrum of the bilateral agenda, and further promote Kazakh-Turkmen relations to an even higher level.
