Allayar Shirliev, a 17-year-old chess player from Turkmenistan, managed to beat three opponents blind at once during simultaneous play on several boards. He demonstrated his skills during a competition held at the Bagtyyarlyk Sports Complex in Ashgabat.
Even playing without looking, with several opponents at the same time, is not an easy task. But it is especially difficult when you can't even see the chess combinations. Allayar had to hold in his memory every move he made without being able to take notes on paper.
This level of skill can be achieved through constant training. On average it takes four years. But the talented young chess player Allayar Shirliev was already able to hold a blind play session at the age of eight. True, before that he had to face only one opponent. This time the young sportsman with the first adult category in his assets came out the winner from the confrontation with several other chess players at once.
He was opposed by representatives of the capital chess club "Bagtyyarlyk" - the first-ranked A. Rakhimov and N. Annagurdov, as well as the second-ranked G. Gidzhenov. The first rival dropped out after the 18th move, G.Gidjenov dropped out after the 20th and N.Annagurdov dropped out after the 28th.
Allayar Shirliev has a rare style of play - attacking and combinative. He begins to attack in the first moves, and is not afraid to expose his own pieces to attack. Many opponents are led to this, resulting in capitulation. This tactic requires foresight and extreme concentration. It is quite complicated and requires considerable concentration, so it is not very popular among chess players.
Now the winner is preparing for a simultaneous blind draw with six opponents. Both his previous opponents, A. Rakhimov and N. Annagurdov, who seek revenge, and the new ones, S. Seidov, M. Merdanov, M. Akgayev and Y. Yalkanova, will be fighting with him. All of them are the owners of the first adult category.
