In his speech in the Majlis of Turkmenistan on January 30, 2023, the Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin expressed hope that the conferences with the participation of Speakers of the Parliaments will be held in each of the "Caspian Five" countries in turn. This is reported on the official website of the State Duma of the Russian Federation (duma.gov.ru).
The Chairman of the Russian State Duma emphasized that interaction of the states in the format of the "Caspian Five" plays a special role nowadays because of the high geopolitical and economic importance of the Caspian Sea.
Volodin noted that the topic of holding Caspian Five conferences in each country was discussed during the official visit of Turkmenistan's Khalk Maslakhaty Chairman Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov to Moscow in November 2022. The meeting decided to hold the conference in Turkmenistan in 2024.
