Volodin: about 30 thousand Turkmen students study at Russian universities

"Russian education is growing in popularity in Turkmenistan. About 30 thousand students from Turkmenistan are currently studying at Russian universities," the Chairman of the Russian State Duma said in his speech in the Mejlis on January 30 during his official visit to Ashgabat. This was reported by the TASS news agency.

The Russian speaker stressed that Russia highly appreciates Turkmenistan's respectful attitude towards the Russian language. He noted that in the 71st Turkmen school a number of classes are taught in Russian. Volodin also noted that the Joint Turkmen-Russian school named after Pushkin is a good example of constructive cooperation in the field of education.
