Ashgabat, July 13 - Arzuw.news. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Organizational State Committee on preparations for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
The international event will be held in the National Tourist Zone "Avaza" from August 4 to 8 this year. The resolution on holding the Conference in Turkmenistan was adopted at the 63rd plenary meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly on April 11 with the support of 57 co-sponsoring states.
On July 4, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree "On holding the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries". The country's Minister of Foreign Affairs signed a corresponding agreement with the UN on how to organize the event.
The participation of 32 heads of state, the UN Secretary-General and his deputies, as well as heads of international and regional structures is expected. The program includes seven main areas: opening and closing ceremonies, plenary sessions, five thematic round tables, seven high-level forums, side events, thematic exhibitions and national days of Central Asian states.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Amanov, B. Annamammedov and B. Seyidova participated in the meeting. Special attention was paid to the issues of transportation, medical care, food supply, security and public order.
Hero Arcadag also inspected the uniforms for the volunteers and the decoration of the passenger buses for the International Conference.
