President Berdimuhamedov received the new Ambassador of Pakistan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan Faryal Leghari, who presented her credentials.

The Ambassador conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

President Berdimuhamedov congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and emphasized that Turkmenistan and Pakistan share friendly relations and common spiritual, cultural and historical values. He noted that Pakistan is one of Turkmenistan's most important partners in the South Asian region.

Bilateral cooperation is developing in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, energy, transportation, education, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The countries actively cooperate within the framework of international organizations: UN, Economic Cooperation Organization and Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Major regional projects are underway, including the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, a fiber-optic communication line and an electricity transmission line along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route.

Special attention was paid to the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, including cooperation in education, science and health.

Ambassador Faryal Leghari assured that she will make every effort to further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.
