The Avaza state power plant, located on the Caspian coast of Turkmenistan, produced more than 241 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the first quarter of 2021, 9.5% (21 million kilowatt-hours) more than planned.
As a reminder, in 2018 Turkmenistan and the ADB signed an agreement for $500 million to finance the installation of the Akhal-Balkan and Balkan-Dashoguz transmission lines. By 2024, the amount of electricity generated in Turkmenistan is planned to increase to the mark of 33 billion kWh.
