Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan held a series of meetings during his visit to Russia

The head of Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry R. Meredov met in Moscow with the chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs G. Karasin and emphasized the urgency of intensifying inter-parliamentary cooperation. Thus, the sides discussed issues of organizing the May-2022 Interparliamentary Forum of Central Asia and the Russian Federation to be held in Ashkhabad.

The head of Turkmenistan's foreign ministry also held talks with Special Representative of the Russian President for Delimitation and Demarcation of the Russian border with neighboring CIS countries and head of the Russian delegation to the multilateral negotiations on the Caspian Sea M. Petrakov.

The parties noted the important role of partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan in establishing a friendly and mutually beneficial dialogue on cooperation in the Caspian Sea. In this direction, joint work on preparation and holding in Turkmenistan will be carried out. The Sixth Summit of the Caspian Sea States.

The Turkmen delegation held talks with I.Nematov, deputy head of the CIS executive committee. The meeting focused on intensifying cooperation in the economic sector, as well as issues of organizing the work of the CIS observation mission at the presidential elections in Turkmenistan.

Consultations were also held between the foreign ministries of the countries at the level of deputy foreign ministers.
