On April 1, a meeting was held to discuss the results of the country component of the STRIVE Asia (Strengthening Resilience to Violent Extremism in Asia) program. A joint partnership between the EU and the UN. The meeting was held at the UN office in Ashgabat with the participation of representatives of ministries, the private sector, and young SDG Ambassadors. This is reported in the online publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The program started in 2020 and is aimed at countering violent extremism.
The main partner in the implementation of the project was the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Turkmenistan.
It is noted that the activities of the program would not be possible without the participation of youth, who play an important role in the collaborative effort to accelerate sustainable development.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Turkmenistan together with the United Nations Development Program opened Education and Information Centers to empower young people and provide employment assistance in 6 pilot cities of Turkmenistan.
