On October 30, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting of the co-chairmen of the Interstate Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation. During the meeting, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexei Overchuk met to discuss topical issues of partnership relations between the countries. In the course of the meeting, the parties considered the further direction of development of partnership between Turkmenistan and Russia, in particular, in the spheres of energy and transportation. The talks then continued in an extended format with the participation of heads of agencies and representatives of ministries of the two countries.
The importance of the meeting dedicated to the discussion of current partnership issues and the search for new forms of interaction was emphasized. The interlocutors noted the importance of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission in strengthening economic cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan.
