Hadi Haghshenas, governor of Iran's Golestan Province, announced that Iran's Political Expediency Council has approved a bill to develop the Inche Burun Free Economic Zone bordering Turkmenistan's territory. The area of the planned free economic zone is 1,500 hectares.
Hadi Hagshenas emphasized in his speech that the locality has special potential for the national economic sphere, strengthening cultural cooperation with neighboring Turkmenistan and other countries of the Central Asian region. Inche Burun is one of the points of the railway transport corridor that connects the territories of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran. According to the Iranian governor, the above-mentioned decision of the Council will also strengthen the state's position in relations with the Eurasian Economic Union.
